Wyman Kassel Winter

Born in Dog Town MS on December 24th 1935. Passed away peacefully October 17th 2026 after a brief illness at Citizen's Medical Center in Columbia LA

Wyman became a helicopter pilot many years ago, carrying workers to oil platforms in the 60's.

He grew tired of being away from home, and started his own logging company, employing many great workers that became close friends.

He retired from the woods for something more static and became a mail carrier in the early 90s before finally retiring in 2009.

You would never see him without a smile on his face, many came to call him Smiley. He would help out anyone in need, not give it a second thought, and was truly one of a kind.

He lost the love of his life Nellie Ruth Winter on August 2nd 2018, and gave her the best possible care for many decades through her chronic health conditions, as they were married nearly 50 years.

He loved to watch football in his downtime, and would speak with his brother Tommy about the games every Saturday, and Sunday night.

Nothing made him happier than spending time with his great-grandson Addison Olden, and they had a very special bond.

Countless family members will cherish memories of him, and hold him dearly in our hearts.

He would request that you make a donation to the local food banks, as he never let anyone he knew do without a good meal.
