Willie Juanice Poole

Funeral services for Willie Juanice Poole will held Monday, March 14, 2022, at 2:00 PM at the Cornerstone Apostolic Church, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, with internment at Squires Cemetery. The visitation will be from 11:00 AM until time of service. 

Willie was born on December 17, 1941, in Jonesville to the union of her parents Welby Jackson Poole and Gholda Randall Poole, and passed awy from this life March 12, 2022, at her residence surrounded by her loved ones. Willie was preceded in death by her parents, her son Ronald Ray Poole, her brothers: Norris Poole, Olan Poole, Joel Poole, and Aaron Poole, and her sister, Loretta Poole.

Throughout her life she served her community as a cook in various places including the LaSalle Parish Sheriffs Office. Her love for cooking continued on in her home making everyone welcome to eat at her table. Her love for those around her showed through her passion and creativity in all aspects whether it be her beautiful flowers or creative desserts that she tested on her family every Sunday morning lunch. As much as she loved being a pillar of her community, nothing compared to the love she had for her children and grandchildren. For over 10 years, she dedicated her life to being a caregiver for her grandson Jeremy. As a doting grandmother, she insured that all of her grandchildren experienced all the joys life brings. They all have fond memories of playing ball with her in the front yard, building forts, cooking and baking, and singing silly songs on the front porch swing. Not only was she a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister and friend, she was also a saint of God. She attended Cornerstone Apostolic Church and taught her children and grandchildren how to live for God and love Him even when times were hard. She was an example like no other, a wonderful lady and a gem to us all. She will be greatly missed.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of sixty-three years Billy Ray Poole, her daughters: Rettann Pritchard (Chuck), Rita Monteplier (Shelby), Rhonda Monteplier (Gary), her brother Randy Poole (Diane), her twin sisters Weda Andrews (Larry). and Theda McClure (Steve), her daughter-in-law Amy Jackson Poole Pardue (Jimbo), seven grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Serving as pallbearers are Adam Montpelier, Tyler Montpelier, Caleb Pritchard, Ethan Montpelier, Samuel Spinks, and Luke Spence. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Montpelier and Darryl Floyd
