Graveside funeral services for William Christopher Wheeler will be held at 3:00 PM, Saturday, April 13, 2024, at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson, Louisiana, with Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating. Services are under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. Family and friends can begin gathering at the cemetery at 2:30 for visitation prior to the service.
William Christopher Wheeler was born in Monroe, Louisiana on January 3, 1985, and passed from this life at his home in Grayson on April 8, 2024, at the age of 39. Chris was the son of Marilyn Nelson Sharp and Danny Wilbur Sharp. Chris was funny and smart and he loved to play jokes on his family and friends. While he loved building things, he also enjoyed taking things apart and putting them back together. He was an avid fan of the New Orleans Saints. He loved duck calls and anything Drake made in camouflage. Aside from his children and family his biggest love was his dog, a yellow lab named Drake. Chris will be missed greatly and always loved. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Joseph Bryan McKenzie; sisters: Brianna Wheeler and Kelley Wheeler; and grandparents: Macey and AC Wheeler, Jr. and Luther and Helen Reitzell.
Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Samuel Wheeler; his daughter, Kaitlyn Winstead; sisters: Jennifer Hogg, Jolinda Temple, Danielle Trichell, Loree Atkins, and Amanda King; and his uncle, Wayne Nelson (Beverly).
Serving as pallbearers will be Samuel Wheeler, Lucas Temple, Justin Temple, Kenny Davis, and Casey Garringer. Honorary pallbearers are Jeremy Lucky, Dustin Lucky, and Harley McClain.
