Vivian Carol Bass

Funeral services for Vivian Carol Bass, age 68 of Columbia, LA, will be held at 10 AM, Thursday, November 4, 2021, at Life Church of Columbia with Bro. Dean Love officiating. Interment will follow at Woolen Lake Cemetery, Hebert, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. A visitation will be held for family and friends on Wednesday, November 3, 2021, from 5 PM until 8 PM at the church.

Vivian Carol McLendon Bass was born in Oak Grove, LA, on July 18, 1953, to the union of her parents, James Lewis McLendon and Vivian Estelle McDowell McLendon, and she passed from this life to her heavenly home on November 1, 2021, at her home in Columbia. Vivian attended church at White’s Ferry Road University Church of Christ until her health prevented her from going. She loved Jesus and loved to worship Him. Her happiest times were spent with her family that she loved deeply. She loved to cook and especially loved baking. She enjoyed tending her plants and spoiling her little dog, Star. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elvis Ray Bass, Sr.; and sisters: Dolly Denton, Mary Lester, and Shirley Meziere.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: James Bass (Selena) and Richard Bass (Tina); daughters: Maryann Corley (Lee) and Jennifer Bass; brother, Jack McLendon; grandchildren: Tyler Bass (Jade), Devin Bass (Courtney), Clayton Spires (Kayla); Brooklyn Bass, Mason Spires, Katherine Bass, Logan Spires, Asher Bass, Eddie Madison, Haley Howze, and Kendall Watson; as well as numerous great-grandchildren and extended family members.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Bass, Devin Bass, Clayton Spires, Mason Spires, Logan Spires, and Mark Meziere. Honorary pallbearers are Jack McLendon, Billy Childress, and Mike Colvin.
