Tristan Gage Rowland Ruddell was born on January 12, 1996, in Monroe, Louisiana and passed from this life on March 10, 2026, at the age of 30. Gage entered this world bright, beautiful, and full of promise. He was intelligent, thoughtful, and possessed a gentle kindness that those who knew him early in life will always remember. Gage had a sharp mind and a compassionate heart, qualities that made people believe he would do something meaningful with his life. Sadly, Gage struggled for many years with addiction, a disease that gradually took hold of his life and isolated him from the people who loved him most. Addiction stripped away much of the life he deserved and ultimately took him far to soon. Though it became the defining battle of his later years, it was not the entirety of who he was. Beneath the struggle was still the same brilliant and kind soul that entered the world in 1996. He leaves behind a family who loved him deeply and who now carry both profound grief and countless unanswered "what ifs." Gage is survived by his wife, Anna; mother, Marcia; his brothers, Gunner and Zeb; sister, Tarrah; father, Kent (Aileen); grandparents, Jim and Diana Rowland; uncle, Tommy Rowland (Jodi); aunt, Alicia Rowland; uncle, Richard Davis; cousins, Kelsi (Taylor), Abby, Konner (Hannah Kay), Ashleigh, Kacey, Krew, Weslyn, Sawyer, Chase, Axton, Haddie Kay, Adeline; nieces, Sydni and Tynli; and a great nephew, Waylon; as well as his fur baby, Jewels. Gages life serves as a heartbreaking reminder of the devastating grip addiction can have, not only on the person struggling but on every family who loves them. His family hopes that by speaking honestly about his struggle, his story might help bring compassion, awareness, and understanding to the disease of addiction. Though his life ended far too soon, Gage will always be remembered for the light he once carried, the love he gave, and the husband, son, brother, grandson, nephew and cousin he was. He will forever remain in the hearts of those who loved him.
