Shirley Louise Johnson

Funeral services for Shirley Louise Johnson, age 74 of Columbia, will be held at 10:30 AM, Thursday, August 26, 2021, at the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Chris Bennett officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, west of Columbia. The family will have a visitation on Wednesday evening from 5 PM until 8 PM at the funeral home.

Shirley Louise Ainsworth Johnson was born March 12, 1947, in Clarks, Louisiana to the union of Pate Ainsworth, Sr. and Nola Busby Ainsworth, and she passed from this life August 22, 2021, at her home in Columbia, Louisiana. Shirley worked at Caldwell Memorial Hospital for 27 years before retiring. She loved nothing more than spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was an avid watcher of daytime television and never missed The Young and the Restless or The Bold and the Beautiful. She always had fun listening to and sharing a little gossip with her friends and family. She was a good cook who enjoyed cooking for her family and she liked to ride around sight-seeing. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, David Johnson; daughter, Sherry LaDean Carr; son, Johnny Johnson; sister, Gwen Mobley; niece, Louise; and nephews: Wayne and Darrell.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Cynthia Scarbrough (Ronnie), Amanda Littleton, and Melinda Chapman, (Mike); brothers: Guy Ainsworth and Pate Ainsworth, Jr. (Helen); sister, Vera Thornhill (Buddy), grandchildren: Amber Richardson (Lee), Chris Barclay (Julie), Brittany Scarbrough (Ethan), Trenton Littleton (Stephanie), Gavin Littleton, Shelby Chapman, and Sam Chapman; great-grandchildren: Cayden Richardson, Avery Richardson, Maddox Richardson, and Axton Richardson.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scooter Ainsworth, Mike Chapman, Danny Caraway, Creston Grant, Bob Adkins, and Bubba Mims. Honorary pallbearers are grandsons: Chris, Trenton, Gavin and Sam.

The family wishes to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Citizen's Medical Center and Citizen's Clinic for their care and concern.
