Shirley Owens Gilmore

Graveside funeral services for Shirley Owens Gilmore, age 77 of Columbia will be held 10:00 AM Wednesday July 23, 2025 at the Duncan Cemetery at Mangham, LA with services under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia.

Shirley Owens Gilmore was born on December 11, 1947 at De Ridder, LA to the union of her parents, the late Marvin Owens and Clarise Lindsey Owens. She passed from this life on Monday July 21, 2025 at her residence following an extended illness. She was also preceded in death by her husband Everett Gilmore and two brothers: Kenneth Owens and Michael Henry.  Shirley was a member of Bethany Baptist Church.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Shelley Kelly (Nathan) of Columbia and Ginnny Gilmore of  Monroe; three brothers: James Owens ( Sandra) of Mt. Pleasant, Texas, Marvin Owens, JR and wife Lacy of Gary, Texas and Tony Henry of Thompson, Texas; two sisters: Judy Green of Gary, Texas and Kathy Bryce of Thompson, Texas; her grandchildren: Brooke Wilcher (Lamar), Dustin Lapham, Madalyn Howard (Ethan) Rebecca Parr (Carlos) and Cady Oxner (Logan); seven great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild and several nieces and nephews. 

Serving as pallbearers will be E. J. Howard, Travis Gilmore, Dustin Lapham, Lamar Wilcher, Kolton Wilcher and Carlos Ledesma. Ethan Howard will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
