Sarah Alice Spence Sanson was born October 14, 1960, in Jackson, Mississippi to the union of her parents, Russell Spence and Lucy Honeycutt Spence and passed from this life May 3, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loved ones.

Proverbs 31 was one of Sarah's favorite Bible passages. She carried it in her heart and mind, always striving to become the woman described within its verses. Sarah was a smart, resourceful and a multi-talented woman. She loved her family, worked hard and was always willing to help others in need. She had a deep love for studying God's Word and sharing the Gospel. In 2007, she was ordained through Christ's Fellowship, a non-denominational, full gospel church. Through her ministry she was honored to give counsel, officiate marriage ceremonies and comfort families during times of loss. Sarah worked in a variety of jobs throughout her life to support her family and to help make ends meet. Some of the highlights of her career included becoming a master certified Automotive Product Consultant for Plymouth, serving as a case manager with the Dept of Human Services  and managing Bill's Dollar Store in Colfax, Louisiana; where through a twist of fate she met Carl, her beloved husband of 25 years. Together they enjoyed attending church, gardening, canning, and working in the yard. In her spare time, Sarah enjoyed reading Christian fiction, word puzzles, and watching both true crime and crime dramas. She was creative, always making a variety of crafts. She especially loved crocheting. She also had a love for shopping, particularly for clothes, shoes, jewelry and home decor. She always had a soft heart for animals. Over the years she had many beloved pets. Each one was dearly loved and spoiled. Sarah's life was marked by many challenges, each of which she handled with determination. She was strong-willed, never backing down from what life placed before her, even beating two types of cancer. She leaves behind a legacy of grit and perseverance that will live on in the lives of those who knew and loved her.

Sarah was preceded in death by her parents and her husband of twenty-five years, Carl B. Sanson.

Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Victoria Byrd-Harvey (Tim); son, John Michael Byrd (Krissy); sisters, Sherry Garner and Linda Calhoun; grandchildren: Marah Stanley (Josh), Nathaniel Knight, CeiJai King (Chris), Jayden Hatten (Cheyenne), Eugene Byrd, Hunter Byrd, and Levi Harvey; great-granddaughters, Remington Stanley and Avery Jade Hatten; as well as a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
