Rose Marie Sneddon

Rose Marie Sneddon was born April 24, 1932, at Plaucheville, Louisiana, to the union of her parents, Adelma Gauthier and Edvise Dauzat Gauthier, and she passed away January 31, 2022, at Hardtner Medical Center in Olla, Louisiana. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Wayne DeSoto; and two grandsons: Timothy DeSoto and Joey Cassola. She was married to her husband, Willard DeSoto for 45 years, the father of her children, until the time of his death. She later married William Sneddon. They were married 10 years until the time of his death. 

She is survived by two daughters: Edie DeSoto McClary (Ralph) of Kelly, LA and Janice DeSoto Martinez (Donald) of Kelly, LA; a son, Douglas DeSoto (Jaquie) of Cottonport, LA; daughter-in-law, Julia DeSoto of Marksville, LA; sister, Loraine Dupuy of Metarie, LA; as well as, 13 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.

Marie, as she was known by family and friends, was known for her generous hospitality and was always ready to cook a meal for you or to have a cup of coffee ready. She will be greatly missed by all.

To honor Marie's wishes, the family has lovingly chosen cremation.
