Ronald Ray Wilson

Ronald Ray Wilson was born in Hebert, Louisiana to his parents Paul Wilson and Winnie Walker Wilson. After an extended illness he passed away at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia on July 31, 2024.

Ronald "Ronnie" married Brenda  Carol Alexander on July 9, 1966 and was blessed with three children.

Ronald joined the Marines in 1965 and was stationed at Camp Pendelton in San Diego, California until October 17, 1971 and received an honorable discharge. After his service was completed he returned back to the Monroe, Louisiana area. He worked  for the City of Monroe. In 1979 he and his brother David started a construction business, Wilson Brothers Construction Company, a few years later they decided  to part ways."Ronnie" opened an service station and used tire store, He also had a passion to run heavy equipment and worked for several dirt and pipeline contractors. After several years, "Ronnie" retired in Hebert, Louisiana. He loved to raise a large garden and the community would stop by and he would sell his crops. He was known as the "Mule"man because he had a talent of training mules to plow his garden, The community would stop by and admire his hard work. He loved to hunt and fish with his brothers and grandchildren.

He was a loving husband, father, grand father and great grand father, He is preceded in death by his parents; Paul Wilson  and Winnie Walker Wilson; his beloved wife Brenda Wilson; his son, William "Stacy" Wilson; daughter-in-law, Christy Palmer Wilson. His brothers; Hollis Wilson, James Wilson and Jackie Wilson; his sister, Betty Wane Bennett.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are his daughter Rhonda Williams (Jeff) of Grayson; his son Lathan Wilson (Mindy) of Amarillo, Texas; brothers David Wilson (Kathy)  Larry Wilson(Donna); sisters, Diane Middleton (Billy) Debra Wilson Owens and Carolyn Girod; nine grandchildren , Jennifer Debar, Jeremy Quick, Aaron Quick, Sylvia Parks (Matthew), Lathan "Charles" Wilson II (Shianne), Ashley Ferguson (Brant), Brandon Wilson (Leah), Shane Wilson (Katie) Christopher Wilson; twelve great grandchildren, Lexi, Ashlyn, Madison, Jayden, Ronnie Wane"Slade", Kinsley, Laura , Keith, Alex, Logan, Paisley, Lathan Allen and a host of nieces , nephews, cousins and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Wilson, Brant Ferguson, Shane Wilson, Jeff Williams, Jeremy Quick and Bret Lemartinere.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Haven Nursing Center for their loving care and support that they have provided.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday August 5, 2024 from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Bro. Cody Ernest and Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating. Interment with full military honors will be at Bethany Cemetery at Hebert, LA.
