Robert King

Funeral services for Robert King will be held at 2 PM, Thursday, April 25, 2024, from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, LA, with Bro. Clay Hutto officiating and Bro. E. R. Johnson assisting. Interment will follow in Urania Cemetery, Urania, LA. A visitation will be held for family and friends at the funeral home on Wednesday, April 24, 2024, from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Robert King was born April 1, 1951, in Winnsboro, Louisiana, and passed from this life April 22, 2024, at his home in Urania, Louisiana. He served his country proudly in Vietnam from 1969 to 1971. After returning home, he went to work in the oilfield as a Company Man. Robert was an avid fisherman and he spent many days on the water with family and friends. He was known to enjoy a good swap or trade, preferring that to outright buying anything, as he loved the fun of making the deal. His family was always his greatest love, especially his grandkids. He always missed his dad after his death, having spent many hours together in the woods, fishing, or just hanging out. Robert was preceded in death by his parents, James "Jimmy" Perot and Myrdie Sikes Perot; his brother, Ben Perot; son, Robi McClain; daughter, Kylie King Duncan; and granddaughter, Lanie Duncan.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of 37 years, Renee King; daughter, Alisha Brown (Josh); sons, Jim Bob King and Kenneth Holder; brothers: James Earl Perot, Mark Perot, and Hank Perot; sixteen grandchildren; special friend, Robert Anding, who he loved like a brother; as well as, numerous nieces and nephews. 

Serving as pallbearers will be Josh Brown, Kenneth Holder, Richie McClain, Daniel Davis, Joseph Hyde, and Ethan Duncan. Honorary pallbearers are Joshua Robert Brown, and Tyler McLaughlin.
