Funeral services for Robert Lavell Hatten will be held 2:00 PM, Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia with Bro. Paul Swinnea officiating. Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held December 16, 2023, at the funeral home from 12:00 PM to time of service at 2:00.

Robert Lavell Hatten was born May 13, 1943, in Hebert, LA, to the union of his parents, Robert Hatten and Velma Laffoon Hatten, and he went to be with Jesus on December 13, 2023, in Winnsboro, LA. Lavell was a skilled brick layer and worked hard all his life. His was a devoted Christian and Godly man who pastored his entire life. He always prayed for his family and loved them unconditionally. Lavell had a variety of interests. He enjoyed listening to bluegrass music and his favorite show to watch on tv was Wild Kingdom. He enjoyed vacationing and especially going to the mountains. He loved drinking coffee at the cafe with his brother and friends. Lavell was loved by so many and he will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents; an infant brother, Alvin Matthew Hatten; and an infant sister, Rosalee Hatten.

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Paula Carol Cordova (Roman) and Carol Lovette Barnes (Michael); son, Cullen Hatten (Jessi); sisters: Una-Mae Graham, Patsy Neathery, and Kathy Council (Gary); brothers, Marshell Hatten and George Hatten (Dona); grandchildren: Jason Hatten (Tristan), Warner Hatten (Hannah), Ashley Smith (Trey), Lacie Hatten, Dylan Fagan, Tabytha Rodriguez, and Michael Robert Barnes (Andrea); great-grandchildren: Malena Hatten, Paige Hatten, Avery Sanders, Jace Lavell Hatten, Gina Rodriguez, Zach Rodriguez, Jillian Wilson, Amerie Barnes, Mia Barnes, and Madi Smith; as well as, a host of other family and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Jason Hatten, Warner Hatten, Stephen Braddock, Dylan Fagan, Logan Dortch, and Alex Foy. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Wheeler, Lorell Graham, Todd Graham, Clint Hatten, Scotty Ray Fitzgerald, Caleb Hatten, and Charlie McKee.
