Funeral services for Rev. C. J. "Buck" Haygood will be held 11:00AM Wednesday June 18, 2008 from the Harrisonburg First United Pentecostal Church. Officiating will be Rev. David Bailey, Sr. and James Mason. Interment will follow in the Old Catahoula Cemetery at Enterprise. All services are under direction of Riser Funeral Home of Columbia. Rev. C.J. Haygood was born on Dec. 20, 1927 in Catahoula Parish, La. and died on Sunday June 15, 2008 at his residence following an extended illness. He was born to the union of his parents, the late John Wesley & Julia Boothe Haygood. He was a retired employee of Armstrong Rubber Company with 38 years of service. He served as a pastor in the North Louisiana Area for some 14 years. In the Columbia area he pastored Burroughs United Pentecostal Church. Rev. Haygood had held a nursing home ministry for some 40 years. He was a Bible Scholar. He served in the United States Navy during World War II in the South Pacific. He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Cecile Anderson, Loraine Vallas, and and Ruth Evans. He was a faithful and devoted husband to his wife of 57 years Jimmie Ruth (Hooter) Haygood of Harrisonburg. A loving father to his two daughters Candace Mosher and husband Mark, of Ragley, La. and Tami Blocker and husband Charlie of Lake Charles, La. Two brothers, Larry Haygood of Jonesboro and Wayne Haygood of Crossett, AR. Three Sisters, Faye Prince of Swartz, Juanita Duke of Vicksburg and Joy Sivils, Fairfield Bay, AR. Four beloved grand children, Jada Cannon & husband Kris, Jon Garrett Vincent and wife Britney, Lauren Mosher, and Stormie Vincent. Three great grand children, Weston Crochet, Lily Cannon, and Adalee Vincent. Serving as pallbearers will be Charles Blocker, Mark Mosher, Jon Garrett Vincent, Kris Cannon, James Mason, and Doug Anderson. Weston Crochet will serve as junior pallbearer. Honorary pallbearers will be Sam mason and Bo Aarons. The Haygood will receive friends and family on Tuesday June 17, 2008 from 5PM until 9PM at the Harrisonburg First United Pentecostal Church.
