Pearl M Self

Pearl LaRue Blazier Self was born May 14, 1935. She gained her wings on Saturday, June 8, 2024. She was preceded in death by her husband, Sonny Self; two sons, Glenn Menefee and Gregory Menefee; grandson, Rick Brown; son-in-law, Danny Corley; and step-daughter, Sharon Self Majors.

Left to cherish her memory are her four daughters: Betty Weenig (Robert), Phillis Ivy (Gary), Judy Corley, and Pam Tannehill (Steve); her son, Dennis Menefee (Meredith); one stepdaughter, Kathy Self; her sisters, Opal Spears and Joyce Jeter; 11 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

Momma was domestic beyond compare. She was an exceptional cook, meticulous housekeeper, and treasured her seven children. Traveling, shopping, and dining out were her favorite activities. Family get-togethers were always special times for her and she wanted all of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren there. She would plan for weeks and accommodate everyone. As a single mother, she worked hard all the time, most of the time more than one job. He life here on earth has now ended. She can now rest in peace, pain free. We are so thankful and blessed to have had her as our "one-of-a-kind" Momma for eighty-nine years. Momma, we will love you honor you, remember you, and treasure you forever. You were OUR mother. Thank you God for our treasure. 

We are extremely grateful for the care provided by Dr. Head and the complete staff of Citizens Medical Center and her loving, caring sitters.

Serving as pallbearers are her grandsons: Jeff Brown, Brandon Ivy, Blaine Menefee, Chase Menefee, Max Menefee, Nathan Menefee. Honorary pallbearers are Prentice Tannehill, Tyler Menefee, Andy Weenig, Stuart Weenig and John Weening.
