Funeral services for Ollie Stephen "Steve" Briscoe will be held 3:00 PM, Sunday, November 12, 2023 at Crossroads Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Duke officiating and Bro. Kent Nugent assisting with interment following at Sandy Bayou Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 1:30 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM. Steve was born in Columbia, La., March 31, 1963. He loved his family and was a hard worker. Even after work, Steve went home to work tending to his animals that he loved (especially his cows), fixing fences (which wasn't his favorite), complaining about the phone, (that he was always talking on), or just relaxing with a cup of coffee. Steve enjoyed taking naps as much as he loved keeping up with football, hunting, and fishing even though he didn't do it. He loved traveling, "looking at junk", and didn't miss a Tractor Supply anywhere he went. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Howard Poole; and two-brothers: Gary Poole and Tommy Poole.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Reba Briscoe of forty-two years; his mother, Mary Poole; sons: Aaron Briscoe, Lynn Briscoe (Kristi); brothers: Paul Briscoe (Dee), Charles Poole (Debbie); sisters: Diane Childress (Tony), Janey Poole; grandchildren: Jeremiah Briscoe, Isaac Briscoe, Abbey Torres; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Pallbearers include James Cook, Steven Rothschild, Xavier South, Curtis Heckard, Nathan Kelly, and Tony Childress. Honorary pallbearer is Randall "Hoopie" Thames.
