The funeral service will be Saturday, August 15, 2020 at 11:00 AM at the funeral home in Columbia with interment following at Urania Cemetery, Urania, LA. Nat was born September 1, 1983 in Urania, Louisiana. To the surprise of his mother and family he was born a twin. Expecting one child, Nat came into the world a few minutes after twin brother Josh. This began the story of “them Blackwell boys”. Nat graduated from LaSalle High School where he also played football. He loved hunting and fishing. He was blessed with two beautiful daughters with Jessica Blackwell that were the loves of his life. He affectionately called them Peanut (Alexa) & Pearl (Sylvia). His daughters meant the world to him and he sacrificed holidays, birthdays, etc. to work hard as an oilfield Dad to give them everything they could want. Nat was employed by Anadarko Petroleum for 15 + years. He loved his job and his oilfield family. In recent years he developed a love for racing. It became his passion, a passion he shared with his loving girlfriend, Ashley Taylor Phillips and her sons Logan, Landon, and Lance. In his spare time, he enjoyed spending time at Will’s Diesel shop working on trucks with his buddy, Will Cheek where he liked to experiment with the Dyno to test the horsepower on random things. This made for a lot of fun times, laughs and memories! He would also work on his race trucks with Jerry Verheyden. Nat never met a stranger and was loved by so many. He lived life to the fullest! He was hardheaded, stubborn, and tough. His infectious laugh and smile will be missed by all. Nat was proceeded in death by his father, Charles Leonard Garza Jr.; grandfather, Johnny Louis Blackwell; grandmother, Francis McDonald Blackwell; grandfather, Charles Leonard Garza, Sr.; nephew, Reese David Morgan and cousin, Brenden Hunter Blackwell. He is survived by his daughters: Alexa and Sylvia Blackwell; mother, Lisa Morgan Blackwell; brothers: Joshua Blackwell and wife Heather, David Morgan and wife Kira, and Randall Roberts; nieces and nephews: Dylan Blackwell, McKenzie and Logan Prather, Jaylyn Blackwell, Hunner and Kinley Morgan and Brently Roberts; numerous family members and friends. Pallbearers will be Joshua Blackwell, David Morgan, Randall Roberts, Rocky Blackwell, Chris Blackwell, Will Cheek, Chris Young, Dylan Blackwell, Logan Phillips, Landon Phillips, and Lance Phillips. Honorary pallbearers will be his Anadarko family on Gunnison platform.
