Mildred Williams Smith

Funeral services for Mildred Williams Smith age 86 of Columbia will be held at 11:00 AM Tuesday July 9, 2024 from the sanctuary of Locust Grove Baptist Church with Rev. Frantz C. Dunn, III officiating. Mrs. Betty Robinson will be in charge of the music. The Smith Family will receive visitors on Monday July 8, 2024 at the Riser & Son Funeral Home in Columbia from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM. and after 8:30 AM on Tuesday at the church.

Mildred Williams Smith was born on February 11, 1938 at Columbia, LA to the union of her parents, the late James Edward Williams and Dora Helen Neal Williams. She passed from this life on Tuesday June 25, 2024 at the Oschner Medical Center in Monroe following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her beloved husband James C. Smith, SR; her grandmother, Ida Coney and four siblings, Fred Williams, Willie C. Williams, George E. Williams and Ida W. Blount.

Mildred worked for years at Seligmans S & Q Store in Columbia as a Sales Clerk before receiving her Nursing Degree and worked for many years at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia. Mildred loved and cared for all her patients always giving of herself,from her heart. She will truly be missed by family and friends alike.

 Left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Cedric P. Williams (Wanda), James C. Smith, JR (Elizabeth), and Jerome C. Smith (Tiffany Mitchell); two brothers, Milton Williams and Jimmie Williams (Alice); four sisters, Doretha Dunn (Frantz), Ann W. Coleman, Josie Dennie (Ronald) and Lillian W. Belisle and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. Also a host of nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Darralest Smith, Vert Slack, Frantz Dunn, III; Joe Belisle, Cedric Williams, Jimmie Williams, IV; Cedric Williams, JR; D.J. Smith, Micah Dennie and Ahamad Dennie.

Honorary pallbearers include Jarriest Smith, James C. Smith, JR; Jimmy Williams, III; and Milton Williams.
