Marjorie Hinton

Funeral services for Marjorie Hinton will be held Wednesday, October 26, 2022, at 2:00 PM, in the Olla chapel of Riser Funeral Home in Olla, Louisiana with Rev. Joel Hines and Mike Russell officiating. Interment will follow in the Beech Creek Cemetery in Winn Parish.  Visitation will be Wednesday, October 26, 2022, from 12 noon until time of service at the funeral home.

Marjorie L. Hinton, 84, of Winnfield, Louisiana, passed from this life on October 22, 2022, at Autumn Leaves Nursing and Rehabilitation Facility in Winnfield, Louisiana. She was born October 11, 1938, in Hearne, Texas to the union of Henry A. and Lena Johnston McKay.  In 1956, she met and married Bennie M. "Bud" Hinton and moved to the state of Louisiana. Her life was spent in service of others. She served God, her family, and countless others along the way. Marjorie never met a stranger and spent her latter years dealing in antiques and flea markets and loved her "horse trading" with her public. She was steadfast in her faith and definite in her opinions. Marjorie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 45 years, her son David M. Hinton, her son, Dennis D. Hinton, and her sister Jane M. Goodwin.

She is survived by her daughters: Dewana L. Hubbard (Byron) and Dena H. Young, all of Winnfield, LA. Her grandsons: Logan D. Hinton of Kelly, LA, D. Tyrel Hinton of Kelly, LA, and Terry W. Young (Jennifer) of Jonesboro, LA. One granddaughter, Melinda L Hubbard of Winnfield, LA, and one great-grandson, Michael A. Young. One sister, Corrie George of Alvin, TX and one brother, Raymond A. McKay (Andrea) of Buenos Aires, Argentina, as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Terry W. Young, Logan D. Hinton, D. Tyrel Hinton, Lathon K. Hubbard, Michael Green, Jr., and Aaron Rodriguez. Honorary pallbearers will be J. Byron Hubbard, Ronnie G. Coates, James Coates, and Albert R. "Spanky" Goodwin.
