Marion Craig Hatten Sr

February 28, 1965 — November 27, 2023

Grayson, Louisiana

Memorial services for Craig Hatten will be held 2:00 PM, Friday, December 8, 2023, at Outreach Baptist Church with Bro. Buster Duplissey and Steve Hatten officiating.

Marion "Craig" Hatten, Sr. was born February 28, 1965, in Columbia, LA to the union of his parents, Alvin "Bud" Hatten and Dorothy Price Hatten, and he passed peacefully from this life at his residence with his loved ones by his side. If you knew Craig, you knew how much he loved Superman. To his family, he was Superman and their hero. Craig was an amazing husband, father, brother, son, papaw, and friend. Craig was a proud man but not prideful. He was proud of his family, his loved ones, and where he came from. Craig was proud to let people know he was saved and going home to be with Jesus. Craig loved to make people smile and feel important. He never met a stranger and helped everyone he could. Craig loved to fish and take his grandbabies riding on the side by side. He always made sure to tell the kids "you have to kiss your first catch" and "spit on your bait". Craig liked going "junking" to see what antique treasures he could find. He loved to brag on his boys and the years of coaching ball and telling stories about back in the day in Dallas. There wasn't a day that went by when he didn't brag on his baby girl and how hard she worked and took care of them. He loved his "Booger". Craig made his life's work laying tile for many years in Dallas and then here in Caldwell. He loved serving the public while he and Tina owned The Donut Shop in Columbia, working with the Housing Authority and most recently making pickled quail eggs for people.

Craig was preceded in death by his loving parents; his brothers: Lee Hatten, Joe Hatten, Carl Hatten, James Hatten, Johnny Hatten, and Paul William Hatten; a sister, Linda Hatten; niece, Melinda Litton and a brother-in-law, Mark Munholland. Those left to cherish his memory are his beautiful wife, Tina Black Hatten; sons: Marion Craig Hatten, Jr. (Candace), Matthew Hatten, Sr. (Janelle); and his daughter, Aliya Hatten; step-children: Christopher Wyant (Sonni), Dustin Wyant (Brittney), and Sarah Graham (Johnathon); grandchildren: Bryce, Brady, Lily, Matthew Jr, Laila, Matthias, Moses, and Malachi Hatten, Aubree, Cohen, Lane, and Hayden Wyant, Kayleigh Beckley, Mathew Black, Emoree and Hartley Graham; his sisters: Bonnie Hatten, Jan Hatten (Chris), Sandy Brown (Bo) and Cindy McKee (Jeff); brother-in-law,  Steven Black (April); a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and special friends: Dwayne "Big D" Gaudet, Jimmy May, and Rick Pasco.

In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations be made to Riser Funeral Home, to help with funeral expenses. Mail to PO BOX 57, COLUMBIA, LA 71418, or by phone 318-649-2311.
