Lyndall Ray "PineKnot" Simons

Funeral services for Lyndall Ray Simons, known as PineKnot by his family and friends, will be held at noon on Friday, June 4, 2021 at the chapel of Riser Funeral Home, Columbia, LA with Sis. Betsy Honeycutt officiating. Burial will follow at Hebert Cemetery, Hebert, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 3, 2021, from 5 PM until 8 PM, at the funeral home.

PineKnot was born December 26, 1949 in Monroe, LA to the union of his parents, Avis Parker Simons and Lewis William Simons, and he passed from this life June 1, 2021. For many years PineKnot was the owner/operator of a log truck. He loved working in the logging woods and driving his Mack truck. He enjoyed the outdoors, whether he was fishing and hunting or riding motorcycles. One of his favorite treats was going to seafood buffets with his wife on Saturdays. He loved going to church at Oasis Full Gospel in Kelly, LA. PineKnot loved his family but especially enjoyed spending time with his grandkids and great-grandkids. An important member of his family, who he loved deeply, was his bulldog, Luca. He was preceded in death by his parents, his mother- and father-in-law Elsie and Floyd Williams, grandson Christopher Lyn Simons, brother Gary Simons, and great-granddaughter Bella.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 53 years, Dewuna Williams Simons; son, Lyndall Ray Simons, Jr. (LeAnn Simons); daughter Linda Gail Ford (Aubrey Ford, Jr.); grandchildren: Bradley Winstead (Renee), Dustin Winstead (Shyann), Christian Simons, and Sara Simons; sister, Barbara Lemons; brothers: Dewayne Simons, Michael Simons, and Roger Simons; and 8 great-grandchildren: Rylee Horton, Katelynn Winstead, EmmaLynn Winstead, Anna Binkley, Brynlee Winstead, Sadie Winstead, Hunter Winstead, and Gracie Binkley.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kyle Decker, Joseph Hyde, Joseph Larchney, Taylor Thompson, Leslie Fallin, Johnny Honeycutt, Eric Schultz, and A.J. Schultz. Honorary pallbearers are Wade Simmons and Gary Carpenter.
