Lois Renee (Downs) Welch was born on November 30, 1968 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the union of her parents, the late Charles Davis Downs, SR and Lois Elaine Taylor Downs. She passed from this life on June 6, 2026 at her sisters residence in Farmerville, LA following an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her brother, Charles Davis Downs, JR. Lois Renee was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. Her greatest calling in life besides being a wife and mother, was that of taking care of people in their time of need. She was especially called into assisting people in Hospice in the end stages of their lives. In her spare time she loved gardening , working with flowers and vegetables. A special light in her life was her grandchildren.

Left to cherish her memory is her husband Phillip Welch; two daughters: Danyelle Roark and Charlie Amanda Renee Gossert (Jere); her brother: Brandon Cody Roark (Lurie Robbins) and thirteen precious grandchildren: Karlyn, Diyamond, Bryannah, Annaliese, Skyler, Phoebe, Marshall, Emily, Travis, Jeremiah, Jaxon, Felicity and Raiden.

Serving as pallbearers will be  Chris Jacques, Chipper Woods, Robert Slaughter, Joseph Dean, Travis Rehus and Jeremiah Roark.

Services are presently incomplete but will be held at the Pentecostals of the Twin Cities in West Monroe with Bro. Jason Ramsey officiating.
