Lois Lottie Jones was born on July 13, 1927, in Winn Parish to the union of her parents, Levi Jones and Lottie Faulk Jones. She married Hurshal Rigdon on February 1, 1947. The couple moved all over Texas and Oklahoma as Hurshal worked in the seismographic field. They have three children, many grandchildren, and many many great-grandchildren. They finally settled down in 1970 and moved to Caldwell Parish where she resided the remaining years of her life. She passed away peacefully at her home on May 19, 2024. Lois was a kind and loving person. She loved her family and the memories made with them. Lois enjoyed cooking so every Sunday everyone knew they better get to her house for a big meal. She loved her garden, growing vegetables, watching the hummingbirds, chickens and quails. Lois loved fishing and had a passion for painting. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Hurshal Rigdon; two brothers, D.E. Jones and Levi "JR" Jones; two sisters, Jewel Cole and Opal Taylor; grandson, Chris Barbo; and her aunt, Nola Faulk, who was like a second mother to her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Charles Rigdon and Mike Rigdon; daughter, Deborah Estis (Buddy); brothers, Bud Jones (Annie), and James Taylor; sister, Geraline Thurber; grandchildren: Steve Barbo (Rona), Gary Barbo (Gale), Tommy Barbo (Sarah), James Monroe Taylor III (Sonya), Patrick Estis (Heather), Charlie Rigdon (Jadyn), and Chris Dunn; great-grandchildren: Morgan Barbo (Bailey), B.B. Barbo, Jewelly Skinner (Waddie), Eil Barbo, Tucker Barbo, Allen Barbo (Shelby), Kimber Rooney (Alan), Aubrey Estis; great-great-grandchildren: Anne Marie Skinner, Wyatt Barbo, Lauren Dupuis, and the two baby girls arriving this summer, Ava Lynn Barbo and Sylvie Jane Skinner.
Pallbearers will include Morgan Barbo, Eli Barbo, Tucker Barbo, Charlie Rigdon, Tracy Humphries, Chris Dunn, and James Bratton. Honorary pallbearers include B.B. Barbo, Allen Barbo, and Cary Vice.
The family would like to give a special thank you to Kathy McDonald, Tracy Humphries, Steve Barbo, and Dr. Randy Head for the love and care they gave to their loved one.
