Linda Wright Long

Linda Wright Long, age 76 of Serepta, Louisiana, was born February 13, 1947,  in Nacogdoches, Texas to the union of her parents, William Henry Wright and Florence Jones Wright, and she passed away after a brief illness on August 8, 2023, in Springhill, Louisiana. Linda worked her entire adult life as a nurse, giving all her patients loving care. She loved watching hummingbirds and collecting angels. She had a fascination with shoes and felt you could never have too many. She loved her family and enjoyed spending time with them, especially when her son cooked her favorite meal, gumbo. Linda was the sweetest person in the world. She was always kind to everyone regardless of the circumstances. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her. Linda was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Charles Ray Wright.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Richard Long (Wendy); daughters, LaTressa Long and Dorothy Moore (Brian); brother, Williams Henry Wright III (Margaret); sisters, Mary LaVone Badeaux and Virginia LaNette Sheppard; grandchildren: Chelsea Michelle Brown (Trey), Tabitha Harper (Joe), Luke Mathis (Elizabeth), Kaitlyn Long, and Christian Long; great-grandchildren, Kylie Scharf and Caleb Scharf; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life for Linda will be held at 10 AM, Saturday, August 19, 2023. at Hebert Methodist Church, Hebert, LA. Inurnment will follow at Hebert Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia.
