Linda Herrington

Funeral services for Linda Herrington will be 1:00 PM, Saturday, September 12, 2026, from the Chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home with Bro. James McMurry officiating. Interment will follow at Providence Memorial Park Cemetery in Winnsboro, LA, under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. Visitation will be Saturday, September 12, 2026, from 11:00 AM until time of service at 1:00 PM at the funeral home.

Linda Sones Herrington was born on April 1, 1943, at Gettysburg, Pennsylvania, and passed to her heavenly home on September 8, 2026, in Winnsboro, LA following an extended illness.

Linda was one of a kind. She was so much fun to be around and brought joy to all who knew her, especially her children. She would often put on some music and sing and dance around the house. She loved going to church and praising the Lord. She prayed hard and loved Jesus which was evident because she talked about Him to everyone. Linda "Loved Big" and never met a stranger. If you went with her somewhere, it never failed that she knew someone. She loved her children and their families with all her heart and she will be terribly missed by them.

She was preceded in death by her two husbands: James Sones and James Herrington; her son, James Ronald Sones; parents, Rosetta "Rosie" Quarles and Robert Broussard Quarles; her siblings: Eddie Malone, Richard Malone, Billy Quarles, and Jean Busby; and life-long friends Clara and Wilbur Kimball and their family.

Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons: Phillip Sones (Melissa) and Jeff Sones (Janice); her daughter, Darlene Neal (Randy); her sister, Bobbie Jo Cooper (Jim); her beloved grandchildren: Ashley Dean (Trey), Bridget Sones, Sabrina Chapman (Jason), Brittany Hill, Ashley Frasier (Dylan), Justin Frasier, Josh Garringer (Nichole), Casey Garringer (Brandy), Brandi Neal (Harley), and Michele Lucas (Billy); as well as, many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

Serving as pallbearers will be Trey Dean, IV Dean, Casey Garringer, Harley Thibodeaux, Jimmy Reynolds, and Robert Cupp.
