Lily Golden Coombs

Lily (Golden) Coombs, resident of Grayson, found her final peace August 7, 2021 at the age of 80 in Monroe, LA. There were very few states in this country that she did not walk upon. She especially loved the West, particularly the high desert plateau, and felt a spiritual kinship with the indigenous peoples there. Her spirit animal was the wolf, and she went fearlessly forward throughout her life, even unto the end.

She is survived by her sister Karen Golden Mitchell of Gilmer, TX and brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Golden of Kilgore, TX, and daughter Marjorie Zimmerman and grandson John Zimmerman of Austin, TX. She has cousins, nieces, and nephews for several generations across the nation.

She enjoyed life to the fullest and was one of those who slid in sideways at the finish line, declaring "Woo Hoo, what a ride!"
