Leo Raines Barnett Sr

Leo Raines Barnett Sr. was born July 15, 1943 in Columbia, Louisiana to the union of his parents, Algia Barnett and Dottie Moore Barnett and passed from this life October 5, 2026 at Rapides Regional Hospital in Alexandria, Louisiana. Leo was Leo. He was grouchy, contankerous, very out spoken, but loved his family, and took pride in giving his brother, David a hard time just to be a pest. Leo loved his kids and grandkids and was very proud of them. He always loved to go fishing until his health declined. Leo enjoyed telling old stories, drinking coffee, and watching westerns. He will always be remembered by his family as one of the hardest working men they knew. He will be greatly missed.

Leo was preceded in death by his parents; and his siblings, Ollie Faye May, Susan Hollis, and Mary McNeil. Those left to cherish his memory are his son, Leo Raines Barnett Jr.; daughter, Shayne Lynn Barnett; brother, David Barnett; sister, Paula Hogan; grandchildren, Jenna Martinez (Barnaby), Duke Medaries (Casey), Victoria Gilley (Brockton), and Trip Barnett; great-grandchildren, Riley, Courtney, Hayden, Mason, Brody, Bayleigh, Riona, Marshall, and Wrenleigh; as well as a host of nieces and nephews.
