Leland Merrell McGuffee

Funeral services for Leland Merrell McGuffee, age 56 of Columbia, Louisiana, will be held at 1 PM, Friday, May 27, 2022, at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, LA with Bro. Bubba Jordan and Bro. David Richmond officiating. Interment will follow in the McGuffee Family Plot in the Rosefield Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home. The McGuffee Family will receive visitors Thursday, May 26, 2022, at Riser Funeral Home from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Leland Merrell McGuffee was born June 13, 1965, (on his father's birthday) in Caldwell Parish to the union of Merrell Delane McGuffee and Betty Lee Johnson McGuffee, and passed from this life after an extended illness at Ochsner LSU Shreveport on Sunday, May 22, 2022.

Leland was an avid outdoorsman enjoying hunting and fishing. He was a retired farmer/farm laborer. He was preceded in death by his parents, nephews: Phillip Allen Powell and Tyler Merrell Powell, and brother-in-law, Tommy Lee Beckley.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are sisters: Delanea Beckley of Columbia, LA and Anita Powell (Phillip) of Sterlington, LA; niece, Andrea Dailey (Stuart); great-nephews: Taylor Scribner and Drake Scot Dailey; best friend, Mark McKee; and a host of cousins and friends.

Serving as pallbearers will be Taylor Scribner, Justin Coates, Dewayne Warner, Tom Paul McKee, Sam McGuffee, Tim McGuffee, Todd McGuffee, and Andrew McGuffee. Honorary pallbearers are Kevin Gathright, Phillip Powell, Stuart Dailey, Mark McKee, Andrew McKee, and Jason McKee.
