Funeral Services for Renee Phillips will be held 2:00 PM, April 24, 2026 at Apostolic Truth Tabernacle in Grayson, Louisiana with Bro. Sherman Jones officiating Interment will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery under the direction of Riser Funeral Home.
Karen Renee Swayze Phillips was born August 5, 1966 in Shreveport, Louisiana to the union of her parents, Cloyde Layton Swayze Sr and Lucille Quaid Swayze and passed from this life April 20, 2026 at her residence in Kelly, Louisiana.
Renee was always outgoing. She had a free spirit and when she was younger she loved to express that by dancing. Her children remember her dancing around the house and the joy it brought them all. She always did things her way. Renee enjoyed good company, laughing, cooking, and carrying on. Over the years she enjoyed fishing, swimming, or just being around the water. She liked traveling, going to garage sales, watching her T.V. shows, and recently picked up gardening. When Renee loved, she loved hard, whether friends or family, but what she loved most was her family and spending time with them. She loved them grandbabies and would do whatever they wanted.
Renee was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Ricky Swayze and Terry Swayze. Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Tommy Phillips; son, Josh Bennett; daughter, Shelly Bennett (Jerry Copeland); three brothers: Layton Swayze, Gary Swayze, and Michael Swayze; sister, Janet Swayze; and her grandchildren: Alexander Toney, Hailie Bennett, Olivia Bennett, Isaac Bennett, Felix Joe Bennett, Jaxson Denison, Cooper Denison, Jacie Kate Copeland, and Luke Copeland.
Pallbearers will include Jaxson Denison, Cooper Denison, Alex Toney, Isaac Bennett, Melton Baum, and Ronald Kastner. Honorary pallbearers will be Andy Merrill and Michael Castleberry.
