Funeral services for Joy Ivy Davis will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, July 28, 2025, from the chapel of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, LA, with long-time friend, Bro. Jack McKeithen officiating. Interment will follow at Holum Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will have visitation on Sunday, July 27, 2025, at the funeral home from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.
Joy Faye Ivy Davis was born September 11, 1948, in Rusk Texas, to the union of her parents, Charles Ivy and Verna Fain Ivy. She passed away at her home in West Monroe, on July 25, 2025. Joy was a hard worker her entire life. She enjoyed staying busy was always looking for things to do, especially things that involved helping others. Her passion was healthcare. She was a lifelong nurse and retired from St. Francis but not one to rest she held numerous positions after retirement. She worked as a paramedic/EMT with an ambulance service and later served as the Ouachita Parish Deputy Coroner for several years. Joy was devoted to her family. She was a loving attentive wife to her husband and a proud adoring mother and grandmother to her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She loved taking them to the movies and spending the day hopping from one movie to the next. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard Lee Davis, Sr.; her sisters: Mary Cohagen, Luana Watson, and Katie McKinney; and her brothers: Charles Ivy, Travis Ivy, Norman Ivy, Alvin Ivy, Pat Ivy, and Frank Ivy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughter, Katherine Michelle Davis; her son, Richard Davis; brother, Mike Ivy (Tressa); grandchildren: Kelsi Thompson (Taylor), Konner Davis (Hannah), and Kacey Davis (Aiden Wilkinson); her great-grandchildren: Chase Thompson, Sawyer Thompson, Weslyn Fife, Krew Davis, Haddie Davis, and River Simmons; her companion, Don Smith; and special friend, Jerri Cloyd.
Serving as pallbearers will be Konner Davis, Taylor Thompson, Zeb Ruddell, Jonathan Douglas, Nick McNemar, and Lance Humphries. Honorary pallbearer is Chase Thompson.
