Joey, a loving husband, son, daddy, and brother was born on January 19, 1977, in Urania, LA to his parents, David Coy King and Donna Jean Ramsey King and he passed from this life on June 24, 2024, at his residence unexpectedly with his loving wife by his side. His family meant everything to him. Joey worked hard to reach goals that he set. He found his true love and they built a wonderful life in Hooterville, which was a dream come true. He prayed to God for a country girl and he said the next time he prayed to God he would specify what he meant in prayer, because he didn't know what he was getting into when he met his wife! (She was more country than he expected). Joey had a wonderful personality and a way with words. Joey would try and try to tell jokes but got so tickled and was laughing so hard he couldn't hardly finish them. Joey had a kind heart and a loving soul. He will be missed tremendously.

Joey loved riding his four-wheeler and his Can Am and he spent a lot of time working on them. He was an avid hunter. His time spent in the woods was what he considered his therapy. He loved to jump on his Can Am and ride with his wife and fur babies in the backwoods of Hooterville. Joey was always fun to be around. He enjoyed sitting outside by the fire, laughing, telling jokes, and listening to his music and even grilling for his family. His children, Julia and Corbin are the apple of his eye. When he married Cassie he gained two daughters and a son. Joey loved his family dearly. He was preceded in death by his brother, David King, Jr. and by his grandparents: Myrtle and Alvin Ramsey and Louella King and Sam King.

Davie his brother, named Joey, "Baby" when he was little. Davie called him Baby at school and home. Joey was asked if it bothered him to be called "Baby". He said that's my name. So Davie continued to call Joey "Baby" after they were grown he realized just how much he cherished his nickname from his brother. I bet Davie is still calling Joey "Baby" in Heaven.  Now, we have two angels in Heaven watching over us, Davie and Joey.

Left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife, Cassie Jackson King of Hooterville; his parents, David and Donna King of Olla; five children: Julia King, Brookelyn Loggins, Gracie Loggins, Corbin King, and Remington Nolen; his sister, Kelly King; and his beloved furbabies, Drake and Hero, who were his world.

Serving as pallbearers will be Matt Williams, Pee Wee Ramsey, Everett Ramsey, John Dobbins, Tom Ramsey, and Brent Howard. Honorary pallbearers will be Corbin King and Jerry Paul Jackson.
