John Albert Whittington

Graveside services and burial for John Albert Whittington, age 88 of Columbia, will be held at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, March 16, 2022, at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery with Bro. Shane Duke officiating. Visitation will be held at 10:00 AM until time of service.

John Albert Whittington was born on June 28, 1933, in San Antonio, TX to the union of his parents, John Whittington and Viola Church Whittington, and passed from this life on March 15, 2022, at  Haven Nursing Home, Columbia. John was preceded in death by his parents. John graduated high school in Texas, then came home and got a degree at North East College (ULM). John was an only child, growing up he dedicated his time to feeding and helping raise the cows. John was a humble man and a good friend to all that knew him. He enjoyed planting flowers and tending to them. He also loved his ducks and chickens, and collecting trains and news papers.
