John Hartley Durham

Graveside funeral services for John Hartley Durham will be at 1:00 PM, Monday, June 8, 2026, at Welcome Home Cemetery. A visitation will be held prior to the service at Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia, from 11:30 AM until 12:30 PM. 

John was born January 10, 1957, in Columbia, Louisiana, and passed from this life in Metairie, LA, on June 1, 2026, after a brief battle with cancer.

He was one of three sons born to Hill Clinton Durham, Jr. and Roberta Bridger Durham. John was raised in Columbia and lived there almost all his life. He worked at Haven Nursing Center for many years. John loved his dogs. He was a very simple man who lived a simple life. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother, Hill Durham III. 

Those left to cherish his memory are his brother, Bobby Durham and wife, Melissa, his sister-in-law, Gale Susan Durham; special friends, Robin Causey and Sandra Reitzell, as well as, numerous nieces and nephews.

Honorary pallbearers are Robin Causey and Benny Douglas.
