Joan McHenry

Funeral services for Joan Hope (Fussell) McHenry age 48 of Olla will be held 10Am Tuesday July 15, 2008 from the Olla Chapel of Riser Funeral Home. Rev. David McGuffee will officiate. Interment will follow in the Beech Creek Cemetery west of Olla, La. Joan Hope Fussell was born on August 28, 1959 to the union of her parents Elmer Fussell and Marietta (Mills) Fussell Murphy. She passed from this life on Saturday July 12 at the Rapides Regional Medical Center in Alexandria following a brief illness. Joan was preceded in death by her parents and her step father Mr. Herman Murphy, a son Christopher Esters, her twin sister Joan Marie Fussell, three sisters Betty Faye Johnson, Linda Nasello, and Shelva Maria Fussell, and her brother Elmer" Jiggs" Fussell. Joan received her Bachelors degree in Interior Design and had an Associates Degree in Carpentry and Cabinetry. She had been employed at the Jena Federal Correctional Facility as a Correctional Officer while completing her education. Survivors include-her husband-Tom McHenry of Olla. Her daughter-Savannah Kate McHenry of Olla, Two sons-Jonathan Esters and Robert Esters both of Kelly, La. Her nephew-Tim Barfield of Monroe, Three brothers , Benny Fussell of Urania. Ricky Fussell and his wife Betty of Grayson, and Pat & Sherry Fussell of De Ridder. Sister in law-Gladys Fussell of Winnfield. The McHenry Family will receive guests on Monday July 14 from 1PM until 9PM at the Riser Funeral Home Chapel located at 4823 Main Street 165, Olla, La. Pallbearers include BennyFussell, Benny Esters, Benny Lee Fussell, Ricky Fussell, Pat Fussell, Scotty Cruse, and Pat McHenry.
