Jo Ann was born on December 27, 1941, to the union of her parents, Dewey and Minnie Waldrop, and she passed from this life to be with her Lord and Savior on November 2, 2025, at St. Francis Medical Center in Monroe, after a lengthy illness. She was a lifelong resident of Grayson, LA.
Jo Ann was a beautiful soul, always giving of anything she had to help someone else. She always thought of others before herself. She would say her greatest achievement was her children and grandchildren, and she loved them all very much. Jo's hobbies were antiquing and cooking for her family when she was able. She loved spending time with her children. Her values were rooted in her deep and abiding faith. She loved the Lord and loved to talk about the Word of God. Her family shall greatly miss their talks with her of the Word and the value of knowing Christ as your personal Savior and Lord. Jo and her husband, Earl were media members of Jimmy Swaggart Ministries and they were faithful to listen to services every Sunday and Wednesday. She was preceded in death by her parents; her beloved husband, Earl Rogers; her precious grandson, Kyle Rogers; sisters: Ruth Pauley, Edith Brewer, and Glenda Harris; and brothers: J.T. Waldrop, Clyde Waldrop, Darrell Waldrop, Donny Waldrop, and Jimmy Waldrop.
Jo Ann is survived by her daughter, Frieda Doffitt (Steve) of Carthage, TX; sons: Burt Rogers (Mel), Todd Rogers, and Steve Rogers (Dena), all of Grayson; sisters: Sandra Fuller of Oak Grove, Hilda Dickey (Earl) of West Monroe, and Beryl Hall (Wayne) os West Monroe; brother, Coy Waldrop of Grayson; her beloved grandchildren: Matt Doffit of Jasper, TX, Mellissa Rogers of Columbia, Josh Rogers of Grayson, Daniel Rogers (Candice) of Calhoun and Dylan Rogers of Bastrop; as well as, many great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
There is not enough paper to write all of the memories and heartfelt qualities of Jo Ann. Her family knew her heart and how she loved all of her siblings and how much she wanted her children to know the Lord and to follow after Him. She loved the book of Romans and found strength in the words of the scriptures. She will be greatly missed and never forgotten!
Nothing shall separate us from the love of God. Romans 8:39
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8:38-39
