Jimmy Bernard Duff, 80, of Columbia, Louisiana, passed away on June 2, 2025, surrounded by his loving wife, daughter, and son. 

Born on October 4, 1944, in Columbia, Jimmy spent his life deeply rooted in the community he loved. A dedicated and skilled welder for over 60 years, he was known not only for his craftsmanship but also for his hardworking hands and tireless work ethic. Jimmy was an avid outdoorsman who found joy in the simple pleasures of hunting, fishing, and tending his garden—an annual tradition he carried on until his final days.

A man of quiet strength and deep devotion, Jimmy served for 12 years on the Caldwell Parish Police Jury, offering thoughtful leadership and a steadfast commitment to public service. He raised two successful children and found great joy in the accomplishments and happiness of his family.

Jimmy is survived by his beloved wife, Carolyn Duff of 60 years; his daughter, Shelia Duff Howard and son-in-law Keith Howard; his son, Brian Duff and daughter-in-law Gretchen Conger Duff; his brother, Charles Duff and wife, Judy; his grandchildren: Taylor Howard Senn and Luke Senn, Kade Howard, Scotty Beth Howard, Drew Duff, Deacon Howard, and Tate Duff; and his great-grandchild, Sullivan Senn. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he so cherished.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 5, 2025, at Riser and Son Funeral Home from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 PM. Graveside will be at Fellowship Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Kade Howard, Deacon Howard, Keith Howard, Tate Duff, Drew Duff, Brian Duff, and Luke Senn. Honorary pallbearers are Jerry Allen Duff Jr., Jamie Duff, Jeffery Duff, Jon Duff, Tye Ellerbe, Michael Duff, Tommy Duff, and Nathan Duff.

Flowers are welcome and may be sent to Riser and Son Funeral Home in Columbia.

Jimmy will be remembered for his quick wit, generous spirit, and the deep love he had for his family. His hands built a life of meaning, and his heart shaped a family whose love endures beyond his passing.
