Jerry Annette Nealy was born on August 31, 1940, and left this earth peacefully on December 5, 2023, at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia, Louisiana. Jerry began her career working in the meat department of Piggly Wiggly in Monroe, Louisiana, where she also held a cake decorator position in the bakery. After relocating to Columbia, Louisiana, she started an interior decorating company specializing in custom painting and wallpaper hanging. Her next and final career was what she became passionate about and that was working as a licensed florist, where she ultimately became the successful owner of a flower shop in both Columbia and Winnsboro, Louisiana. She had a strong work ethic and made sure her floral arrangements were impeccable before they went out the door. She also believed in taking care of herself and always looked her best before leaving home every day. Even with her numerous career successes, she was most proud of being a homemaker and raising her children, Steve and Denise, along with her husband, Hooper Nealy. She loved her family and they will miss her tremendously. Jerry is preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Jimmie Lee Taylor; her sister, Vera Grace Taylor Monaghan; and her brother, Denny Taylor.
Those left to cherish her memory are her husband, Earl "Hooper" Nealy; her son, Steve Nealy (Connie); her daughter, Denise Kelly; grandchildren: Taylor Jameson "T. J." Nealy, Nealy McCoy, and Randi Clair Kelly; and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, and staff at Haven Nursing Center and Elara Caring for the love and care they have given to Jerry over these last three years she has been in their care.
