Jerry Wayne Harper was born on June 30, 1947 at Transylvania, LA to the union of his parents, the late Grady Harper and Addie Butler Harper. He passed from this life on Tuesday October 24, 2023 at the Citizens Medical Center in Columbia following an extended illness. He was preceded in death by his parents,  and a sister, Louise Carter and two brothers, Willie and Billy Ray Harper.

Jerry served his country during the Vietnam War in the U S Army Signal Corp. Jerry was a loving husband, father and Poppa. He was a machinist for over thirty years and was an active member of Bellview Baptist Church.He enjoyed watching the news, anything to do with history and especially the NASA Channel.

Left to cherish his memory is his beloved wife, Anne Denison Harper of Columbia; his daughter, Darla James (Chris) Fort Worth , Texas; his sister, Ann Burton of Homer; two grandchildren, Tori Laborde of West Monroe and Brooke Laborde of Fort Worth. and six great grand children D J, Jaycen, Zachary, Cadence, Josh and Sara.

A celebration of Jerry's life will be held on November 11, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the Bellview Baptist Church with Bro. Mark Dannehl officiating. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. The family invites family and friends to join them for refreshments following the memorial.
