Jerry Allen Duff, Sr.

Our father, Jerry Allen Duff Sr, 79, passed away Thursday April 20, 2023 at St. Francis Medical Center surrounded by his sons. His whole family was fortunate enough to be by his side in the days before his death sharing many laughs and memories. 

 

Jerry was born in Columbia, Louisiana on March 13, 1944 to Margie Duff. Jerry spent most of his youth raised in Caldwell Parish by JB and Jewel Duff, sharing lots of misadventures with family and friends. 

Jerry is survived by his sons, Jerry Jr. (Monica), Jamie (Theresa), Jeffery (Morgan), and Jon (Janna). Grandchildren, Jordan and Jada, Jared (Ainslie) and Jenna (Blake), Jackson and Jolie, Jude and Jack Henry. Great-grandchildren, John Oliver, Anderson, Eloise and Jax. Jerry is preceded in death by his mother Margie Duff. Jerry spent his life building up Duff’s Body Shop for over 30 years. He also served on the Caldwell Parish Water Board for a number of years. 

Jerry served his country as a sergeant in the U.S. Army in the mid to late 60’s. He guarded a Nazi war criminal and was in charge of the base's ammo dump. 

Jerry spent his final years on his farm tending to his animals, raising a garden, and feeding his catfish/pets with his pup Girlie by his side. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, running parts for the body shop, and sharing a Coney Island chili burger with his buddy Mike Brown. 

Visitation will be held at Riser’s Funeral Home on Saturday, April 22, 2023 from 2:00-4:00pm with services to follow. Brother Courtney Dunn will be officiating. The family will have a private burial at a later date. Pallbearers will be Brian Duff, Chuck Esters, Keith Howard, Clay Manly, Chris Oram, and Mike Price. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Brown, Jimmy Duff, Danny Hall, and Ellis Spangler.
