Funeral services for Jannette Lafferty Taylor, age 71 of Columbia, will be held at 1 PM, Saturday, August 21, 2021, from the sanctuary of Cross Roads Baptist Church, Grayson, Louisiana with Bro. Shane Duke officiating. Burial will follow at Welcome Home Cemetery, Grayson under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia. The family will have a visitation on Friday, August 20, 2021, at the church from 5 PM until 8 PM.

Jannette Lafferty Taylor was born in Columbia, Louisiana on July 3, 1950, to the union of her parents, Horace Franklin Lafferty and Eula Mae Watson Lafferty, and she passed from this life August 17, 2021, at Citizens Medical Center in Columbia. Jannette was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, daughter, and friend. She kept her children and grandchildren laughing with her fun-loving personality. Life was never dull. She loved to cook for them and spoil them. Some of her favorite pastimes were fishing, tending to her flower garden, and going to thrift shops with her twin sister, Annette. She enjoyed listening to Alan Jackson songs and watching romance movies. She will be greatly missed. Preceding her in death was her parents; her infant son, Harry Taylor, Jr.; sisters: Annette Sikes, Louise Green, Evie Mae Robertson, Abby Brown, Gaynell Duncan, and Leta Bell Lingerfelt; and her brother, Jessie Lafferty.

Those left to cherish her memory are her son, Brian Taylor; daughters: Melissa Guillot, Derika Lanclos, and Desiree’ McConnell; brothers: Frank Lafferty (Ann), Horace Lee Lafferty, and Joe Lafferty (Ann); sisters: Mary Jones, Sadie Fields, and Thelma Nation; the father of her children, Harry Taylor, Sr.; grandchildren: Melvin Guillot, Jr., Hunter Guillot, Gabrielle Taylor, Faith Taylor, Jessy Taylor, and Austin Lanclos; great-grandchildren: Parker McConnell and Landry McConnell; and a host of nieces and nephews. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece, Tina Duncan and the doctors and nurses at Citizens Hospital but especially to Dr. Randy Head and nurses, Jackie and Nikki.

Serving as pallbearers will be Brian Taylor, Festus Harrison, George Duncan, Michael Duncan, Tony Duncan, and Willis Davis. Honorary pallbearers are Hunter Guillot, Melvin Guillot, Jr., Austin Lanclos, and Jessy Taylor.
