James Randy Smith

A Memorial Service for 'Smitty' Smith will be held 6:30 PM, July 21, 2026 at the Urania Cemetery. 

James Randy "Smitty" Smith was born February 9, 1960 in Columbia, La to the union of his parents, James Otis Smith and Billie Jean Sikes Smith and passed from this life June 28, 2026 at his residence. Smitty was a one of a kind. He always worked hard to provide for his family that he dearly loved. Smitty enjoyed hunting, fishing, floating the creek, or just being outside. Nothing compared to piddling around with his grandsons Caine and Collin making a life time of memories that will always be treasured. He was fun to be around, and he always had a joke to say or a story to tell. 

Smitty was preceded in death by his father, James Smith; his mother and stepfather, Billie Smith Neathery and Reggie Neathery; and his wife, Christy Smith. Those left to cherish his memory are his two daughters, Savana Smith and Maelyn Smith; sisters, Joyce Windham (Ronald), Wanda Richards, Sandra Bowers (Jimmy), Betty Sigler (Keith); grandchildren, Caine Mercer, Collin Mercer, Kase Veuleman, and baby girl Hendrix coming soon; great grandson, Bowen Mercer arriving soon; and a host of other nieces, nephews, and two special friends, Jeff Kennon and Van Veuleman.
