Jack was born on February 8, 1941 in Columbia, Louisiana. He was lovingly raised by his grandparents Nancy and Cary Biggs. Jack was a graduate of Kelly High School and attended Northeast Louisiana University. He was a retired signalman with Union Pacific Railroad. Following his retirement, Jack worked part-time at Kaye’s Food Market in Columbia and Mac’s Fresh Market in Olla.
He was also a member of Kelly Baptist Church.
Jack was a wonderful husband, father and an amazing grandfather. His grandchildren were truly greatest joy of his life. He spent many hours attending their ball games and events or chauffeuring them wherever they needed to go. One of his favorite hobbies was taking pictures of old barns. His absence in our lives will leave a void that can never be filled.
Jack is preceded in death by his grandparents, his Uncle Wayne Biggs, his cousin and closest friend Ronnie Biggs and his brother and sister-in-law, Jim and Karen Harris.
Jack is survived by his wife of 62 years, Georgia Harris. Jack & Georgia would have celebrated their 63rd Wedding anniversary on December 10, 2025. He is also survived by his son, Jackie Harris and wife Chelette, his daughter Terry Bailes and husband Jeff Bailes, his grandchildren, Paul Shelton (Ginny), Nick Harris (Tiffany), Haley Barnett (Heath), and Phillip Shelton (Cheyenne). Jack is also survived by 7 great grandchildren Emma Harris, Harper Barnett, James Shelton, Sophia Shelton, Harrison Barnett, Hayes Barnett and Magnolia Shelton.
Serving as pallbearers are Bryce Sanford, Gabriel Morton, Jake Bennett, Joseph Sutherlin, Landry Coates, Michael Braddock, Ray Bratton, and Tony Little. Honorary Pallbearer is Eddie Peavy.

A very special thank you to Dr. Randy Head for all of the care, concern and love he gave to Jack during his lengthy illness.
