J. W. “Little Boy” Hatten, Jr.
Despite his tough exterior, stubbornness and bold personality, there is evidence that J. W. was a loving and kind person. That evidence is in the pain and deep sorrow in the hearts of his family.
J. W. Hatten, Jr. departed this earthly life on May 25, 2021. He was born in Columbia, LA on June 3, 1951 to J.W. Hatten, Sr. and Annie Wheat Hatten. He grew up in Cotton Plant, LA and lived and worked in Caldwell Parish throughout his entire life . He enjoyed riding horses and scrolling through "BookFace." He loved music and playing guitar. He retired from L P in 1999 after many years of working in the logging woods. He was happiest when surrounded by family, friends and good food. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Bill and Dale Hatten.
He leaves behind his loving wife of thirty years, Doris Snoddy Hatten, their two precious children, Hannah and Jaylen; their daughters: Amanda (Sammy) Chambers and Nikki (Richard) Cotton; son: Chris (Laci) Wiggins; grandchildren: Cameron Wiggins, Seth Wiggins, Kullen and Kylan Chambers, Caydence Wiggins, Alexis Wiggins and Ethan Cotton; one sister, Noma Hatten; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jeffery Hatten, Ethan Cotton, Cameron Wiggins, Marvin Stephens, Steven Skyles, and Steve Perot. Honorary pallbearers include: Peter Man, Chris Wiggins and Sammy Chambers.
Services will be held on Friday, May 28, 2021, at 1:00 PM from the Columbia chapel of Riser & Son Funeral Home with Brother Nathan Newton officiating. Interment will follow in the Hatten Family Plot, Hebron Cemetery, Winn Parish, Hebron, LA. The Hatten family will receive visitors on Thursday, May 27, 2021, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM and Friday, May 28, 2021, from 9 AM until time of service at the funeral home located at 7131 U S Highway 165, Columbia, LA.
