Gregory Scott Bowden

Gregory Scott Bowden, age 63, of Columbia was born on August 6, 1959, at San Jose, California to the union of his parents, Ellis Duane Bowden and Patricia Ann Swope and he received his Ultimate Healing on May 15, 2023, at his residence in Columbia, LA.

Those left to cherish his memory are his beloved wife of twenty-six years, Jean Marie Bowden; his children: Gregory Bowden, Jr. (Oklahoma), Katherine and Zach Stevens (Missouri), Teresa and Brandon Cotheran (Missouri), Hailey Bowden (Oklahoma), Elizabeth Bowden (Jonesville, LA), Victoria Bowden, Jamal Bowden and Isaiah Bowden, all of Columbia; two special sisters, Mary Brendle of Columbia and Cindy Scroggins of Jonesville; as well as, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, sisters and brothers. His family of the heart: one special niece, Haylee Duncan who loved her "Old Man", a special mother-in-law, Cora Tucker (David) of Texas, his special pal, Bentley and special friends, Gaylon Scroggins, Johnny Higginbotham and Sam Brendle.

Greg was a gentle soul who loved strong. He loved the Lord and strived to be a better person everyday. He loved to laugh and joke and pull practical jokes, always, always, always trying to one up Mary. He loved his family both near and far. Greg loved spending time with his pennies. Those waiting to welcome Greg home were his mother and father, Ellis and Patricia Bowden; brother, Steve Bowden; father-in-law, George Gray; and his grandparents.  

Greg will forever be in our hearts. Cherish everyday because tomorrow's not promised.

A memorial service will be held at 5:00 PM at Greg's residence located at 6809 Highway 4 West, Columbia, LA on Sunday, May 21, 2023, with Bro. Whit Bass officiating. Family and friends may begin to gather at 4:45 PM.

In lieu of flowers any planned memorials may be made to the American Lung Association.
