Funeral services for Gorgonio Martinez, age 86 of Columbia, will be held at 2:00 PM, Sunday, January 4, 2026, graveside at Columbia Hill Cemetery with Bro. Oris Hall officiating.

Gorgonio Martinez was born May 9, 1939 in Allende, NeuvoLeon, Mexico to the union of Juan Martinez and Virginia Martinez. He passed on January 3, 2026 after a lengthy illness surrounded by his family.

Gono as he was known to all was a retired farmer. He loved being outdoors and spending time with his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, three sisters, and his son, Sonny Martinez.

Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 68 years, Magdalena Martinez. a daughter, Bertha Leija (David); 5 sons: Jaimie Martinez (Juanita); Donald Martinez (Janice); Johnny Martinez (Jessica); Frank Martinez (Alison); Barnaby Martinez (Jenna).

Grandchildren: DJ Leija (Brandy); Jenny Taylor (Larry); Jaime Martinez, Jr.; Megan Gauthier (Justin); Andrew Martinez (Kati); Courtney Martinez; Riley Shipp; Levi Martinez; Gabby Martinez; Gesslyn Martinez; Colt Ross (Amanda); Justin Ross (Niki).

Great Grandchildren: Rebekah Pilcher and Kanon Martinez

The family would like to thank Ascend Hospice-especially Jackie Bolton for their loving care of our father during his illness.
