Graveside funeral services for Gloria Jane (Newman) Guerrero , age 65 of Grayson will be held 1:00 PM  Monday,  March 2, 2026, at the Oak Grove Cemetery near Fort Necessity with Bro. Jeff Masters officiating. Services are under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. Family members and friends may begin to gather at 12:45 PM on Monday.

Gloria Newman Guerrero was born on December 4, 1960 at Rogers Clinic in Winnsboro, LA to the union of her parents, Robert William Newman and Jeanette Pippens Newman. She passed from this life suddenly on Friday February 27, 2026 at the St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center in Alexandria.

Gloria was loved by all who knew her. She made a career in the Caldwell Parish School System in Cafateria Service basically following her precious grandchildren  and that determined what school system she applied for. She was a hard  worker. In her spare time she loved working in her yard and flower beds. She loved crafts, cooking, and shopping and especially spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents and by her sister Martha Newman.

Left to cherish her memory are her three sons: Ernest Guerrero (Dana), Paul Guerrero (Kelly), and Zach King (Alyssa). her sister: Diane Newman; her grandchildren: Coty Guerrero (Anna), Michael Black (Alli),  Macie McClanahan (Gabe), Dylan Dannehl (Alexis) and Owen Guerrero. Her great grandchildren: Banx and Baylor Black, Gunner McClanahan and Addy Pace; her nephews: Nicholas Glass and Hunter Newman and her nieces: Misty Parker, Shannon Glass,  and a host of great nieces and nephews. The family would also like to acknowledge two special friends, Diane Garnett and Cynthia Moran.

Pallbvearers include Coty Guerrero, Michael Black, Gabe McClanahan, Dylan Dannehl, Lee Townsend, Jaron Townsend, Marty Ochoa and Mark Corley. Honorary pallbearers include Owen Guerrero, Hunter Newman and Nicholas Glass.

Gloria's Family would like to extend a heart felt thank you to The Haven, Citizens Medical Center and St. Francis Cabrini Medical Center for the love and compassion shown to our mother and the wonderful care extended.
