Glenn Barnhill was born on September 25, 1948, at Monroe, LA, to the union of his parents, Marvin Edward Barnhill and Arletha Lingefelt Barnhill. He passed from this life on Tuesday, June 30, 2026, at the Haven Nursing Center in Columbia.

If you knew Glenn you knew regardless of what you needed, whether is was tractor work done or a box of sweet potatoes, he was always only a phone call away. Glenn served on the Caldwell Parish Police Jury for many years and also drove a school bus for the Caldwell Parish School System for many years. He hauled Many kids in this parish and if you never had the experience of riding his bus, you definitely missed out. He never met a stranger no matter where he was. He was a friend to all. It was not uncommon to see Glenn out and about delivering turnip greens, sweet potatoes and other items from his garden to his friends and constituents in his Police Jury ward. Glenn was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers: TW Barnhill and Maynard Barnhill, and a sister, Gloria Grant  

Those left to cherish his memory are his daughter, Amy Crain and husband, Ricky; his son, Matthew Barnhill; brother, Roy Barnhill; and sisters: Margaret Stapleton, Blanche Gibson, Sue Gibson, and Jean Patton; grandchildren: Marley Crain, Christianne Crain, Dawn Holmes, Jamie Crain, and Zack Harmon; great-grandchildren: Paris, Boston, and Alyce, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 PM, Sunday July 5, 2026, from the sanctuary of Cross Roads Baptist Church with Bro. Shane Duke officiating and Bro. Joe Rosales assisting. The family will receive visitors at the church on Sunday from 2:00 PM until time of service at 3:00 PM.
