Glenda Faye Williamson

September 17, 1940 — July 28, 2024

Funeral services for Glenda Faye Williamson were held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, July 30, 2024, from the sanctuary of Beulah Baptist Church, Winnfield, Louisiana with Bro. Lamar Carpenter and Bro. E. R. Johnson officiating. Interment followed the service at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home, Columbia.

Glenda was born September 17, 1940, in Arcadia, Louisiana and passed away July 28, 2024, in Winnfield, Louisiana, after an extended illness. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband who passed away in 2007, Arliss Williamson; father, Arthur Edward Driskill; and mother, Lillie Edwards Miles. Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters: Helen McBroom (Randy), Gayle Slayton (Billy), and Linda Ann Hall; step-son, Tim Williamson; eight grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and special friend who she loved like a son, Wesley Carter.

Glenda was a special person who looked for the good in everyone she met and helped anyone who needed it any way she could. She loved animals and would always take in every stray that wandered up in addition to the wide variety of animals she always kept. She loved to cook and grow flowers. When she was younger she enjoyed sewing as well. She always worked hard and was a wonderful mother and grandmother. She raised her daughters in a loving home and always supported them in everything they did. As they grew and married and had their own families she continued to be a devoted mother by offering advice and a helping hand when needed. She especially loved and appreciated her son-in-law, Randy. She referred to him as her right-hand-man and called him her "Boy."  He was the son she never had. Glenda will be missed so much but her memory will live forever in the hearts of those who loved her.

Serving as pallbearers were Randy McBroom, Billy Slayton, Jason Arendt, Riley Woodel, Tim Williamson, and Wesley Carter.
