Glenda Faye Franks

Funeral services for Glenda Faye Alford Franks will be held at 11:00, AM, Friday, December 9, 2022, at Riser Funeral Home in Columbia, La with Bro. Todd Whittington officiating and Interment following at Mt. Pleasant Cemetery, under the direction of Riser and Son Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM at Riser Funeral Home, Thursday, December 8, 2022.

Glenda was born July 30, 1944, in Columbia, La., to the union of her parents, J. W. Alford and Pauline Talbort Alford and passed from this life on December 5, 2022, at St. Lukes Health Brazosport Hospital in Lake Jackson, Texas. Glenda was a dedicated wife, mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. Glenda had a big heart and loved her family beyond measure. She was a hard worker and always very supportive, making sure everybody had what they needed. She loved traveling, looking at the mountains, watching hummingbirds, hunting, fishing, or just working in her flower beds. Glenda was stubborn at times, which was a trait her daughters inherited, the boys said. She enjoyed her kids and grandkids and lived life her own way. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Roy Franks Sr.; her brother, James Harold Alford; and her special cousin, Kaye Desormeaux. Those left to cherish her memory are her sons: William Parr (Becky), Roy Franks Jr. (Linda); daughters: Lisa Thibodeaux (Kenny), Angel Kersten (Raymond); her brother, Mark Alford; her sister, Jean Mitchell (Johnny); grandchildren: Scotty Cupp (Valine), Cody Parr, Wesley Cupp (Lauren), Chelsey Munholland (Dusty), Becca Parr (Carlos), Cassie Franks, Raymond Michael Kersten (Brittany), Tyler Kersten, Glenda Grace Kersten, Trey Franks (Macy), Michelle McIntire (Troy), Hanna Broom, Kate Thibodeaux, and a host of great-grandchildren and other family.

Pallbearers include, Cody Parr, Scotty Cupp, Wesley Cupp, Raymond Michael Kersten, Trey Franks, Kadin McIntire, Dusty Munholland, and Dylan Boles.
