Geraldine Buckley Brown

Funeral services for Geraldine Buckley Brown, age 70 will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, March 4, 2023,  from the sanctuary of Life Church, Highway 4 East, Columbia, LA with Rev. James Smith and Bro. Ricky Buckley officiating. Interment will follow in the Brownville Cemetery at Columbia. Services are entrusted to and  under direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Columbia. The Brown Family will host visitation at the funeral home on Friday, March 3, 2023, from 5:00 PM until 8:00 PM.

Geraldine Buckley Brown was born on October 18, 1952, at Columbia, Mississippi to the union of her parents Freddie Buckley and Mamie Toney and she passed from this life on Wednesday, February 22, 2023, at her residence  in Columbia, LA She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, James "Bootie" Brown; her sister, Lela Nell Barnes; and three brothers: Eddie, Richard, and Joe Buckley.

Left to cherish a lifetime of memories are her three sons: James "Jim" Thomas (Clara) of Bogalousa, LA, Gary Thomas (Tamra Smith) of Monroe and Dan Thomas (Ruth) of Grayson, LA; three daughters: Vicki Tugger of Columbia, Theresa Nijar (Ladi) of California and Lekesia Thomas of Columbia; and a Bonus Daughter, Joliza Butler of Columbia; three brothers: Ricky Buckley, Mitchell Buckley, and Jessie Buckley; two sisters: Glenda Sewer of Alabama and Mary Nell Toney of Columbia, Mississippi and a Bonus Sister, Evelyn Middleton of Columbia; her beloved grandchildren: Demitrice Tugger, Shawnderick Scott, Lexi Thomas, Aaliyah Thomas, Katelyn Thompson, Laylay Cheffin, Jermiah Hill, Austin Thomas, Mya Tugger, Erica Rodriguez, Karli Thomas, Jacolbi Tugger and Eric Rodriguez; and two great-grandchildren, Ava Jordan, Tegan Foster, Jr., and one on the way, Aveyah Rose.

Serving as pallbearers will be Dan Thomas, James "Jim" Thomas, Gary Thomas, Paul Roquemore, Josh Wooten and Austin Thomas. Honorary pallbearers include Jacolbia Tugger, Shawnderick Scott and Eric Rodriguez.
