Graveside funeral services for Geraldine Marie Ashley age 79 of Morgan City, Louisiana will be held 1:00 PM Thursday, September 17, 2026 at the Shady Grove Cemetery west of Olla, LA  with Pastor Betsy Honeycutt officiating. Services are under the direction of Riser & Son Funeral Home of Olla. Family and friends will begin to gather at 12:45 PM.

Geraldine Marie Ashley was born on September 28, 1946 at Morgan City, LA to the union of her parents, Alvis Crochet and Flavia Giroir, and passed from this life on September 11, 2026  at Morgan City Legacy following an extened illness.  Geraldine loved going to church and served as Sunday School Teacher  and also worked in the Womens Ministry. She also loved witnessing for Jesus and helping others. She also served as a Deaconess in her church, Bayou Vista Community Fellowship. She was preceded in death by her husband Melvin Ashley and by her parents.

Left to cherish her memory are her son, Darren Ashley and her daughter , Melissa Eubanks; her brother, Gerald Crockett and her sister, Kathryn Kirkland; her grandchildren, Emily Emfinger, Daniel Eubanks, Joshua Ashley and Kaylin Albo and eight great-grandchildren.
